I joined the faculty at Virginia Tech in August 2017 after visiting UT Austin in 2016 and spending 5 years at Georgetown University. I completed my PhD and MBA at the University of Chicago in June 2011 and completed my undergraduate degree at Wayne State University in June 2003. I have prior work experience in public, corporate, and not-for-profit accounting, including work in tax and audit. I have two young children who in the span of 24 hours can make you think nearly everything anyone has ever thought about children. I have simple interests. I spend time with my dogs and like all animals. I like food and drink and enjoy preparing meals for my family. I like to collect books. I don’t have a favorite, but I enjoy most epic poems. I like textiles – wool, silk, linen, cashmere – and am learning more about the cultivation and conservation processes. I like music and as I am getting older enjoy music from many cultures and in many time periods. Simple things.
